Wink What now with GW2 around the bend...

Hey all.

I'm looking for other people's opinions:
Now that Guild Wars 2 will come out in a year or 2 years from now; what to do?

Does everyone here still pursue their "goals" in-game (whether its FoW set, or having 6 characters with explorer titles or the people know me feat, etc) Or just screw around in game; have a laugh in

For me, I can't really focus on those anymore since real-life gets in the way of playing a *lot* more than it used to. But, being stuck @ r5 for more than year, I really want a wolf before I /uninstall gw1 and /buy gw2 . What's everyone else thinking?

You only need r3 Gladiator for HoM. Do you mean Hero?

I just got FoW for my Paragon yesterday.

Just filling out my Halls with titles, armor and whatever.

Don't forget the 6-12 month delay that is on, well, pretty much all games.

Considering I don't buy into the OMG GW is dead, I will continue to play the game as normal enjoying it for what it is meant to be.

Everyone worried about GW2 two yrs from now really should live for today not tommorrow

I'm probably going to work on getting at least rank 2 of KoaBD title on my dervish and get all the possible statues for the monument of honor.

Other than that, I'll probably just play as usual

I'm far from certain GW2's going to be worthwhile for me (persistent world MMO's aren't really my thing) so it's not really a consideration.

Guild Wars has been out for 2 years - and theres still 2 years before GW2 will be released - double of anything you've done up until now in the last two years -.-

LOL

Who knows, with any certainty, where they'll be in two years time?

This is a general remark rather than a stab directed towards the OP: why do GW-related decisions have to be so black and white or mutually exclusive? GW2 is far away, and GW1 has no monthly fee so it should be pretty flexible in letting you do whatever you like. Yet there are plenty of threads where people state things like:
-If they nerf X I will quit forever.
-GW2 will suck/rock because I heard that <insert miscellaneous tiny tidbit of info here>, I will definitely <not> buy it!

I mean you can come and go as you wish, why the drama? Also decisions regarding GW2 are quite premature at this point if you ask me. Boring answer to the original question: I'll continue to play when it's fun and when I have the time. Sometimes it's 5 hours a day, sometimes 5 minutes a week.

It's fairly uncommon these days for a game to actually be released on the date that it's first stated it will be released. I think that's what he's referring to.

Actually no, there is both a financial and marketting priority to get games out on the advertised date

Yes, we all know (and sometimes want) games companies should sometimes have waited a lil longer to release games that were crap on release, but once patched later on, were stunning examples of gaming excellence...

However, unless, like Midway/Epic Games saying Unreal Tournament 3 will be released "When its ready" (which is a brilliant marketting tool, the fanbois lap up any info they hear then), games companies are forced by the publishers to rush for the set release date, sometimes crippling games on release

And so far good example is Fury, even a couple of Devs and well known guilds are openly saying to wait until its patched before buying, even those that were all over the beta like flies on the remnants of your dogs dinner at walkies time

The gaming community has been reduced to a group of beta testers... How many of you guys here play a beta, then buy the full product and are bored of the damn game at release because its exactly the same thing with more maps or more whatever?
